Getting On Track

Hi all!

So this past week has been quite a success for me. I managed to get myself on a schedule that I think will stick. Dinner has been on time, the kids are going to bed at a reasonable hour, and I am taking my beauty regimen seriously. I was even able to get my hair and makeup done by 8:18 AM Friday morning, which is a first! Yesterday, I slept in before work, so no makeup (I was just so exhausted from the week!). However, I made up for yesterday by being on time for choir this morning, fully made up and ready for my day. I even did the dishes and finished scrubbing the couch cushions. It's Sunday afternoon, and my house is clean, dusted, and almost everything is in order. There is still plenty of work to do (rooms, closets, kitchen) but I'm very pleased with the results of my work this week! I give myself a pat on the back for really working hard and getting things done on schedule! I was even consistent using my planner!

What makes me happier is the fact that working this hard during the week affords me the opportunity to spend time entertaining my friends. I never used to be the type who liked entertaining, and now I know why. Nothing was ever cleaned properly and I was never ready for my day! Now, I feel like I can take on the day, get things done, and find time to spend with my friends and do the things I want to do.

My To-Do agenda this week involves cleaning the rooms, the closets, scheduling daily kitchen maintenance, maintaining my beauty regimen, schedule my at-home sewing class, schedule my little one's home work, organize the toys and make and keep a household schedule. Phew! That's a lot! I think I can manage it if I work hard enough. Oh! And I can't forget my spa day!! :-)

Well, I better get going. I'm looking over what I just wrote, and it seems more like an excited ramble than a coherent piece about being a housewife. Ah well. I'm off to relax and enjoy the rest of Sunday. Talk soon!
